- 1. S Red Rose – Beautiful colour and nicely presented. The frame being wide around an image can be off putting. Maybe less at the top more at the bottom. But we all agreed a well-earned Honours. HONOURS

- 2. S Tom – Lovely colouring, expression well captured. Image clear and sharp. The blue background complements Tom’s colouring. Just gorgeous. Cropping is a bit tight especially at the top. Highly Commended

- 3. I Shag – The shag is sharp and the background nicely blurred. Feather detail on the back is sharp. Good space for the bird to look into. Little detail on the front of the bird. Try cropping out the post on the bottom right. Lift the shadows on the front of the bird to reveal more detail. Merit

- 4. I Takahe Parent and Child A nice sharp image with good interaction between the birds. There is a little too much background. Try blurring the green area and a slight crop from the top. Highly Commended

- 5. I Sunset on the Bay Lovely sunset image and nicely presented with good leading lines with the rocks. A busy photo and too much to focus on. The sun is blown out. Try toning down the brightness a little. Merit

- 6. I Waipu Caves Nicely presented and well lit. The leading lines are good. However without the title it is hard to know what this image is about. Acceptance
