Prize giving

Congratulations to all of the winners, and many thanks to Rose for again photographing all for posterity - and probably facebook!

As well, we were privileged to view images entered by several club members to National competitions throughout the year, and hear how well they had done. Also the winning AVI show, belonging to Bruce Burgess. Very thought provoking.

Then as well as viewing ALL of our compeition entries from 2012 thanks to Dick, Rose provided us with a laugh with some embarrassing moments from last year's prizegiving.  Many thanks Rose.

White Island Trip

An absolutely magical time on the volcanic island proved to be a photographer's dream.

The boat trip out was a bit bumpy but on the Island there was only a slight breeze and not a cloud in the sky.

Trip to Batley

A lovely afternoon spent at Batley included the chance to photograph Batley house up close, and hear the history from Rae Roadly who has written a book about its history and her introduction to it and her future husband Rex.

A walk around the beach provided more opportunies to savour the history of the area, and sundown produced some lovely colours and reflections.

Dinner at the Waipu Pizza place ended a worthwhile trip.

Balloons over Waikato

Ten camera happy people enjoyed a great weekend in Hamilton on 2-3 April for the annual Balloons over Waikato festival (6 from our Club, 2 from Mid North plus a couple of ring-ins).

The Ruapehu Trip

Club Members from Whangarei, Dargaville and Keri Keri plus a few extras, were treated to beautiful weather on their recent trip to Ruapehu. (End of October).

One group (photo shows the Intrpid Trekkers) walked the Tongariro Crossing and had to walk through snow in places for fabulous views of the lakes.
